Razor Cami

A very form-fitting and flattering cami. Super simple lace, no shaping and minimal finishing make this a quick and easy knit.

  • SIZE - written for XS/S (bust 30-34"), but easily adaptable to any size (notes in pattern).
  • YARN (MC) - Sirdar Snuggly 4-ply (55% Nylon 45% Acrylic, 50g/226m), 2 balls (only a small bit of ball 2 used). (CC) Rowan R2 Sparkle, 1 card.
  • NEEDLES - 3.75mm circ (16" or 24" length) and 3.75mm straight (optional)
  • GAUGE - 24 sts and 29 rows = 4" in st st worked in the round.
  • EASE - 2-4" negative. Actual cami measures 26" around, stretches to fit.

    TERMINOLOGY

    sl-k2tog-psso - slip next stitch knitwise, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over.

    METHOD

    Body: CO 156 sts on circular needle (tip for resizing - cast on 12 extra sts for each extra 2 inches you need). Place marker and join round.
    Work in 3x1 rib for 2.5".
    Work in razor shell pattern:
    Rnd 1: (k1, yo, k4, sl-k2tog-psso, k4, yo) to last st, k1
    Rnd 2: k around
    Rep these two rows until work measures 16"

    Divide at armpit:
    Patt 78 sts (half your stitches, if you resized) and turn, leaving rem sts on a holder. switch to straight needles if you like.
    Cont in pattern on these 78 sts for 3.5". BO.

    Finish the back:
    Work in 3.1 rib on rem sts for 3/4". BO tightly.
    Seam edge of top ribbing to front edge at each side.

    Edging:
    Using CC, pick up and knit each st from armpit, across the front and down to other armpit. turn and BO.

    Straps:
    With CC pick up and knit 5 sts from front left. Work in 1x1 rib until strap measures 12" unstretched. Either BO and seam to back 4.5" in from side, or pick up 5 sts from back and 3-needle bindoff. Rep for other strap on right hand side.
    Weave in ends and you're done.
